Supernatural/ Arrowfans, you can pretty much kiss goodbye to your dreams of the Green Arrow meeting the brothers Winchester.
Arrow star Stephen Amell insisted last year that he'd be "totally up for it" but now Supernaturalshowrunner Andrew Dabb has suggested that "mixing genres" for a crossover wouldn't work.
(Fair enough, though if Sam and Dean can meet Scooby-Doo, we're not entirely sure where the line gets drawn on these things.)
"The Scooby-Doo thing was very special for us and worked in a lot of ways," Dabb told Digital Spy and other media. "[But] the number of shows that can realistically cross over with Supernatural is very low."
He added: "Mixing genres in crossovers doesn't work that well, so, like, a crossover with Arrowis not going to work out for us."
Boo. But while Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki taking a trip to Star City might be off the table, Supernaturalactor Misha Collins did reveal that Dabb is planning another "full-on crossover episode".
"I do know that Andrew has been trying to figure out another crossover," Collins, who plays Castiel, revealed. "But it's very challenging, because getting all of the powers-that-be to agree to the rights for that kind of thing takes a certain special elixir to make it happen.
"He's attempted to get a few really great properties for crossovers, that I thought were great ideas."
Hmmm... if Arrow's a non-starter, how about Supernaturalmeets The Walking Dead? Given that Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Sam and Dean's pa John Winchester, we'd love to see what the boys would make of Negan...
